AClimate science is the study of Earth's weather and long-term temperature patterns. Scientists have studied our planet's climate for over 150 years. They use satellites, weather stations, and ocean sensors to collect data. This information helps us understand how the climate is changing. Climate science has become one of the most important fields of study today.
BThe Earth's temperature has risen by about 1.1 degrees Celsius since the 1800s. This rise has been caused mainly by human activities, such as burning fossil fuels. When coal and oil are burned, gases are released into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun, which means the planet gets warmer. This process is known as the greenhouse effect.
CHowever, some people argue that climate change is a natural process. They say that the Earth has always gone through warm and cold periods. On the other hand, most scientists agree that the current warming is happening too fast. In addition, the level of carbon dioxide in the air is higher than it has ever been. Therefore, human activity is almost certainly the main cause.
DAs a result of climate change, many serious problems have already appeared. Sea levels have risen because polar ice has melted. Furthermore, extreme weather events, such as floods and droughts, have become more frequent. Many animals and plants that used to live in certain areas can no longer survive there. Despite some progress, global emissions are still increasing every year.
EAlthough the situation is serious, there are reasons to feel hopeful. Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, are being used more widely. Many governments have introduced new laws to reduce pollution. Scientists believe that if countries work together, it is still possible to limit further damage. The decisions that are made today will shape the future of our planet.
