AVaccines are one of the most important discoveries in modern medicine. They protect people from serious diseases that used to kill millions every year. A vaccine works by teaching the body how to fight a specific disease. Scientists have developed vaccines for many dangerous illnesses, including polio, measles, and tuberculosis. As a result, these diseases are now much less common around the world.
BWhen a vaccine enters the body, it introduces a weak or inactive form of a germ. The immune system recognises this germ as a threat and begins to fight it. It then produces special proteins called antibodies, which destroy the harmful germ. The body remembers how to make these antibodies in the future. Therefore, if the real disease enters the body later, the immune system can fight it quickly.
CVaccines have saved hundreds of millions of lives over the past century. Smallpox, which used to be a deadly disease, has been completely removed from the world. In addition, polio has been eliminated in most countries, including Bangladesh. However, some diseases are still difficult to vaccinate against because they change quickly. Despite these challenges, scientists continue to develop new and better vaccines every year.
DOn the other hand, some people have concerns about vaccine safety. They worry that vaccines may cause side effects, such as fever or mild pain. Although these reactions are usually small and short, they can make people feel nervous. Furthermore, some communities do not trust medical authorities, which means vaccination rates stay low. If more people refused vaccines, dangerous diseases could return and spread widely.
EIn conclusion, vaccines are a proven and effective way to prevent serious illness. They work by training the immune system before the real disease arrives. Governments and health organisations around the world have promoted vaccination programmes widely. Despite occasional concerns, the benefits of vaccines are far greater than the risks. It is therefore important that people continue to support and accept vaccination for a healthier future.
