ASleep is essential for good health. However, many people in modern society do not get enough sleep. Adults need seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation is becoming a serious problem worldwide. In Bangladesh, many students and workers report sleeping fewer than six hours a night.

BThere are several reasons why people sleep less today. Technology is one major cause, as many people use phones and screens late at night. The blue light from screens can disturb the brain and delay sleep. Furthermore, work pressure and long study hours leave little time for rest. As a result, many people have developed poor sleeping habits over time.

CSleep deprivation has many negative effects on the body and mind. People who do not sleep enough often feel tired and cannot concentrate well. Their memory is also affected, which means they perform worse at work or school. In addition, lack of sleep has been linked to serious health problems. These include heart disease, diabetes, and a weakened immune system.

DOn the other hand, some people believe they can function well with little sleep. They argue that the body can adjust to less rest over time. However, research does not support this view. Although people may feel used to sleeping less, their performance still suffers. Therefore, experts warn that ignoring sleep needs can cause long-term damage to health.

EImproving sleep habits is possible with some simple changes. People should avoid using phones at least one hour before bed. A regular sleep schedule has been recommended by doctors. Despite busy lifestyles, rest must be treated as a priority. If people make sleep a daily habit, they will likely feel healthier and more productive.
