AHospitals are places where sick people get help. Doctors and nurses work there every day. They touch many patients and many things. So they must keep their hands very clean. Clean hands stop germs from spreading.
BGerms are very small and we cannot see them. They live on our hands and on surfaces. When a nurse touches a patient, germs can move. This can make the patient more sick. So hand washing is very important in hospitals.
CNurses and doctors wash their hands before they touch a patient. They also wash their hands after. They use soap and clean water. Sometimes they use a special liquid that kills germs. This liquid is called hand sanitiser.
DA hospital in Dhaka started a new programme last year. Nurses washed their hands more carefully after that. Fewer patients got infections. The doctors were very happy with the results. Now other hospitals are going to do the same thing.
EYou can also keep your hands clean at home. Wash your hands before you eat food. Wash them after you use the toilet. This is a simple but very good habit. Clean hands keep you and your family healthy.
