Present Simple is used for regular actions, habits, universal truths, and permanent situations. Form: subject + base verb (add -s/-es for third person singular). Example: I live, He lives.
Present Continuous is used for actions happening now or temporary situations. Form: am/is/are + verb+ing. Example: I am living.
Present Simple often appears with frequency adverbs (always, usually, often, sometimes, never) while Present Continuous uses time expressions like now, at the moment, currently, today, this week. This distinction is fundamental for IELTS candidates as it demonstrates basic grammatical competence required for band 5.0 and above.
Present Simple Tense ব্যবহার করা হয় নিয়মিত কাজ, অভ্যাস, সত্য তথ্য এবং স্থায়ী পরিস্থিতির জন্য। যেমন: I work, She eats, They play। এটি প্রতিদিনের রুটিন বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। অন্যদিকে Present Continuous Tense ব্যবহার করা হয় এখন ঘটছে এমন কাজের জন্য বা অস্থায়ী পরিস্থিতির জন্য। গঠন: am/is/are + verb+ing। যেমন: I am working, She is eating, They are playing। মনে রাখবেন Present Simple সাধারণত always, usually, often, sometimes, never এর সাথে আসে। আর Present Continuous এ now, at the moment, currently, today এই শব্দগুলো দেখা যায়। IELTS পরীক্ষায় এই দুটি tense এর সঠিক ব্যবহার অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কারণ এটি আপনার ভাষার মৌলিক দক্ষতা প্রকাশ করে।
- Present Simple is used for permanent truths (Water boils at 100°C), schedules and timetables (The shop opens at 9 AM), habits with frequency adverbs (I always eat breakfast), and instructions (You mix the ingredients).
- Present Continuous is used for temporary actions (I'm reading a book this week), actions at the moment of speaking (She's talking on the phone), changing situations (Prices are rising), and fixed future arrangements (I'm flying to London next week).
- Understanding these patterns helps IELTS candidates choose the correct tense based on context, which is essential for Writing Task 1 descriptions and Speaking Part 1 responses about daily routines versus current activities.
- Present Simple ব্যবহার করুন যখন: (১) স্থায়ী সত্য বলছেন - The sun rises in the east.
- (২) অভ্যাস বা নিয়মিত কাজ - I drink tea every morning.
- (৩) সময়সূচী এবং ট্রেনের সময় - The train leaves at 6 PM.
- (৪) নির্দেশনা দিচ্ছেন - You turn left at the corner। Present Continuous ব্যবহার করুন যখন: (১) এই মুহূর্তে কিছু ঘটছে - I am typing now.
- (২) অস্থায়ী পরিস্থিতি - She is staying with friends this month.
- (৩) পরিবর্তনশীল পরিস্থিতি - The weather is getting colder.
- (৪) ভবিষ্যতের পরিকল্পনা (নির্দিষ্ট সময় সহ) - We are meeting tomorrow at 5 PM। IELTS Speaking এ এই দুটি pattern সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করতে পারলে আপনার স্কোর বৃদ্ধি পায়। মনে রাখবেন কিছু ক্ষেত্রে উভয় tense ব্যবহার করা যায় কিন্তু অর্থ ভিন্ন হয়।.
